Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

Little Mix have announced their Confetti Tour where they’ll be teaming up with Black Minds Matter UK.

Get out your diaries everyone because the girl group appeared on The One Show tonight, where they presented their fans with all the updates.

And while dropping into conversation that their album is available to pre-order tomorrow morning, at 9am, they also delivered on the live music front, something we’ve been missing a lot recently.

‘The Confetti Tour!’ Jade Thirlwall shouted over video call after saying they’ll be hitting the road on April 28 next year.

‘It’s really amazing as we’re partnering with Black Minds Matter UK and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy to support and raise money for their work.’

For every ticket sold, £1 of the proceeds will be split between the two charities which both provide mental health resources.

The group will kick off their tour in Dublin before making their way through the UK, stopping off at Leeds, London, and Glasgow before wrapping things up in Manchester, May 29.

Here they’ll be performing some of their biggest hits including Holiday, Break Up Song, Woman Like Me and Shout Out To My Ex.

They also confirmed that their album, titled Confetti, would be dropping November 6.

Talking about their new music video for the album’s latest single, Holiday, Perrie Edwards said: ‘It was strange cause we’re so together all the time even this is weird.

‘We made it work, we didn’t want our fans waiting forever and ever, and ever, for videos and content. So we had to make it work somehow.’

Perrie said of the album: ‘It’s so good, I feel like it was the easiest album we ever made it fell into place.’

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who recently got engaged, added: ‘We didn’t put any pressure on ourselves it just happened naturally. It’s a good, solid, fun pop album.’

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.

Little Mix, Perrie Edwards X Factor audition
Perrie Edwards didn’t want to audition for X Factor – and we couldn’t imagine it without her

Mum is always right. Just asked Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards who has revealed she almost missed out on pop stardom had it not been for her mum forcing her to audition for The X Factor.

The Geordie thanked her mother Debbie for being pushy with her as she empathised with the contestants on her group’s new reality hunt show The Search on the BBC.

‘I didn’t want to do it, but my mum forced me,’ Perrie, 27, revealed a decade on.

‘I’m really thankful now! I was painfully shy and didn’t wanna do anything that would embarrass myself.’

Meanwhile, the Holiday singers said they ended up squabbling on who to pick as the next big stars as their music tastes are all so different.

Bandmate Jade Thirlwall, 27, admitted the tension filming when she confessed: ‘We definitely had disagreements. A couple of times maybe I went off in a huff!

‘There are moments we couldn’t believe someone wouldn’t put someone through. It’s inevitable that we’re not always gonna agree on certain people.’

As well as taking on an entire TV show, the Black Magic stars have announced their sixth album – Confetti – will be dropping later this year.

And they will be going on tour to celebrate the release, on 6 November.

Appearing on The One Show recently, Jade simply told viewers: ‘The Confetti Tour!’

Confirming they would be hitting the road 28 April, 2021, she explained they were partnering with charity Black Minds Matter UK.

‘It’s really amazing as we’re partnering with Black Minds Matter UK and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy to support and raise money for their work,’ she added.

This means that, for every ticket sold, £1 of the proceeds will be split between the two charities which both provide mental health resources.

The group will kick off their tour in Dublin before making their way through the UK, stopping off at Leeds, London, and Glasgow before wrapping things up in Manchester, 29 May.

Little Mix: The Search starts on 26 September, on BBC One.

Little Mix: The Search lands on BBC One tonight, the chart-topping band’s new talent show which sees band members Leigh-Anne, Jesy, Jade and Perrie find the next global pop sensation.

Contestants will be sorted into six groups which are a mixture of all-boy, all-girl and mixed groups, with each being mentored by the band members.

And the stakes are high – the lucky winners will score the top prize of supporting the band on their tour.

Hopefuls can enter the competition in their own groups if they want, but they have no control over the final groups – a brutal format the girls were subjected to themselves when they formed on X Factor many moons ago.

So, just when did they get together?

What year were Little Mix on X Factor – when did they get together?

Little Mix took part in – and won – X Factor back in 2011.

The band, who were the first group to ever be crowned series champions – were formed after all four members, who had auditioned as soloists were placed in two other groups, both of which were knocked out at the bootcamp stage.

They came together when judges suggested keeping two members from each group and bringing them together to form a new group.

They were originally called Rhythmix but soon became Little Mix after it emerged there was a children’s charity which had the same name.

They battled Marcus Collins in the final, with the finalists tackling En Vogue’s Don’t Let Go, Silent Night and, finally, the winner’s single Cannonball, by Damien Rice.

The band released their debut album in 2012 and the rest – as they say – is history.

The girls promise their new show will be different from X Factor and other talent shows, telling BBC ‘the format is completely different,’ adding that contestants will be supported through the whole experience.

‘Us girls have been through it, we’ve been in their shoes and auditioned before. We’ve been successful – we’ve lived it,’ said Leigh-Anne.

‘We can help them and guide them, and hopefully they can follow in our footsteps in terms of success.’

Perrie and Leigh-Ann clash over singer on Little Mix: The Search

Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock had a slight disagreement over one contestant during tonight’s Little Mix: The Search.

In their new BBC series, Perrie, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne and Jesy Nelson are all hunt for the next best group.

After becoming the first band to win The X Factor in 2011 and so far securing four UK number one singles, the girls will be mentoring groups that they hand-select from solo singers who audition for them.

Although, during the fourth episode, things got a tad heated when Perrie and Leigh-Anne had a disagreement over their first auditionee Tamara.

After her stunning performance, Little Mix had to decide whether they wanted to put Tamara through to the ‘band room’ or to send her home.

Kicking off the feedback, Leigh-Anne told her: ‘The thing that drew me in was the way you performed, I think you’re such a beautiful performer.’

Jade went on to explain that while she enjoyed the performance, she was still unsure about putting her in the girl vocal group.

‘I really enjoyed it as well, and I love your tone,’ she said.

‘But I think there are elements where once you’re in it, it’s like wow you’re beautiful, but part of me feels you’re still trying to find who you are as an artist, I still think you need a bit of time.’

‘You have got a real R&B tone and I could really see you in a girl band,’ an impressed Jesy added.

Although, it was Perrie who was unsure about the performance.

She commented: ‘When you sing high it’s beautiful, but when you’re low you’re kind of singing through your teeth, and it was really affecting how I was hearing the performance.’

When it came to the vote, Jesy and Leigh-Anne both said yes, while Perrie disagreed and said no, meaning it was down to Jade to decide whether to put Tamara through.

‘I can do this, I won’t let you down,’ Tamara pleaded.

‘I don’t get why you wouldn’t put her through, I really don’t,’ Jesy and Leigh-Anne said to Jade.

‘Think of what her voice could bring,’ Leigh-Ann exclaimed.

Perrie still stuck to her guns as she added: ‘It’s a vocal girl group isn’t it.

‘Like you might think she can do the high parts but you’ve got to do the whole shebang.

Pointing to Jesy, Perrie said: ‘You don’t just sing the lows and you don’t just sing high you sing it all (pointing to Leigh-Anne).

Although, not giving up Leigh-Anne interrupted Perrie as she said: ‘It’s that natural break, that doesn’t come often.’

In the end, Jade decided to give Tamara a chance and put her through to the band room.

Little Mix: The Search viewers were left a little terrified of Perrie Edwards as she got ruthless on the judging panel – before having their hearts melted by her crying.

We love a versatile queen!

While fans know that the Holiday hitmaker is a ‘little sunshine’ most of the time, she’s clearly taking no prisoners on the show.

In fact, she and Leigh-Anne Pinnock clashed over one act, Tamara, after the star was left unconvinced.

She commented: ‘When you sing high it’s beautiful, but when you’re low you’re kind of singing through your teeth, and it was really affecting how I was hearing the performance.’

‘Perrie is so intimidating if i saw her in the street i think i would turn around and run away x’ one fan wrote, while another added: ‘Perrie can be so intimidating than a little cupcake within a second.’

‘One minute Perrie is intimidating the next minute she is crying,’ one more said.

‘Perrie being really sweet and dancing along during the auditions then becoming scary and intimidating ten seconds later lmaoo,’ another fan added.

Meanwhile, fans were obsessed with the star getting teary over one performance and ‘hot and bothered’ over another.

Little Mix: The Search
The girls were searching for the next big girlband (Picture: BBC)

‘Not me crying at perrie crying,’ one said, while another added: ‘OMG PERRIE’S CRYING BABY.’

The girls – Perrie, Leigh-Anne, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirlwall – have been on the hunt for the next big global group.

So far, they’ve secured a boyband and a mixed group, with them hunting for the next big girlband in the latest episode – so no pressure!

Contestants auditioning must receive three yeses from the four Little Mix bandmembers.

Little Mix will then decide the final line up for each band, who will then live together and have access to vocal coaches, songwriters, choreographers and producers.

Little Mix The Search: Jade Thirlwall ‘gutted’ to miss performance as Leigh-Anne Pinnock sings her part

Jade Thirlwall was ‘gutted’ to miss out on Little Mix’s performance as they were forced to sing without her during The Search.

The girl group opened the live shows tonight with a stunning performance of their new hit Sweet Melody, which will feature on their new album Confetti.

However, after being put into quarantine, Jade could only appear on the show virtually, meaning she missed out on the gig.

Luckily her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards were there to sing her parts – and fans were obsessed.

‘LEIGH ANNE AND PERRIE COVERING JADE PART,’ one enthused while another said: ‘PERFORMANCE WAS INSANE BUT I MISS JADE.’

These capitals are completely necessary.

Jade is currently self-isolating (Picture: BBC)

Someone else added: ‘Omg, since I heard [Sweet Melody] I’m very obsessed, I can’t wait to see the performance again now with Jade too.’

When chatting over video call, Jade explained: ‘I’m doing alright, gutted I can’t be there tonight but I’m just happy that I can still do this from home.’

The singer went into self-isolation earlier this week, with the BBC confirming she’d miss out on being in the studio during tonight’s performance.

A spokesperson for the broadcasting giant said: ‘Jade has to self-isolate this week and will therefore be carrying out her role as Mentor on Little Mix The Search from home.

Little Mix The Search

‘For this Saturday’s show, Jade will participate via video link, continuing to mentor alongside Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Perrie.’

While she is in quarantine this does not mean she has Covid-19, but possibly came into contact with someone who has.

This isn’t the show’s only run-in with coronavirus, as last week’s show was cancelled after multiple crew members tested positive for the virus.

At the time, the BBC said: ‘We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

‘Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s programme.

‘There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount.’

Little Mix The Search continues Saturday on BBC One.

Perrie Edwards was in tears on Little Mix: The Search, as she sent mixed band Jasper Blue home.

The group – consisting of Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke’s body double Rosie Mac, Melina Halpin, Liam McHugh and Jordan Smithy – failed to impress the Shout Out To My Ex stars in the first live show.

They found themselves in the bottom two, with the judges choosing to save Melladaze after a final performance.

Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock shared their deliberation first, and opted to keep the girl group in the competition.

This put the pressure on a teary Perrie, as her vote ultimately sent the mixed band home.

Taking a second to gather herself as her voice cracked, the 27-year-old said: ‘Oh god, this is horrible.

‘The band I would like to save is Melladaze.’

Jesy Nelson confirmed she would have also sent Journey Blue home.

Rosie insisted that their time on the show was ‘incredible’, telling host Chris Ramsay: ‘The best experience ever’.

The series follows Little Mix on their mission to find the perfect act to take on the road with them in 2021, with the winners landing a supporting slot on their Confetti tour next year.

They’re now left with the boyband New Priority, girl vocal group Nostalia, girl dance group Melladaze, RnB and Hip Hop group YChange, and live instrumental band Since September.

The live shows were supposed to launch last week however, they were forced to delay the episode after some of the crew members tested positive for Covid-19.

And Jade was also forced to appear via a video-call while she also quarantined at home

While this doesn’t mean she has coronavirus herself, she may have come into contact with someone who tested positive.

Her reps confirmed: ‘Jade has to self-isolate this week and will therefore be carrying out her role as Mentor on Little Mix The Search from home.

‘For this Saturday’s show, Jade will participate via video link, continuing to mentor alongside Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Perrie.’

David Walliams and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards pranked into auditioning for fake Borat movie

David Walliams and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards appear to have been pranked into auditioning for a fake Borat sequel.

YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners managed to convince celebrities, also including Jimmy Carr, David Spade, Ann Widdecombe and Towie’s James Argent, to say lines from a fake script in an attempt to land a role.

Josh shared the clip, made in collaboration with Amazon, on Twitter on Monday – a few days after the release of the Borat sequel starring Sacha Baron Cohen was released on Amazon Prime.

Celebrity Big Brother star Ann says ‘very nice’ at least four times, while the Britain’s Got Talent judge impressed with his enthusiastic audition.

Influencers read out lyrics from Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s hit WAP and popstar Perrie gives it her all and says ‘I like sex’ in her audition to play Borat’s sister.

Explaining the elaborate prank, which included fully written ‘Borat 3’ scripts sent to each celeb’s agents, Archie told Insider: ‘We didn’t just want it to be really silly and laughing at people doing bad auditions.

David Walliams
Of course David Walliams nailed his (fake) audition (Picture: YouTube)

‘But also you get to see and enjoy some world-class acting from David Walliams and imagine him in that role as the ambassador of Kazakhstan.’

The pair revealed that all the celebrities involved knew that the movie would see them playing tricks on an unsuspecting public.

Josh and Archie previously made headlines when they pranked Katie Hopkins by getting her to fly to Prague to collect a fake award.

They also made Tiger King star Carole Baskin believe she was being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, and pranked Love Island stars Tommy Fury and Molly Mae Hague into thinking they were speaking to James Corden on his show.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for comment.

How David Walliams, Perrie Edwards and Ann Widdecombe were pranked into auditioning for a fake Borat movie

They pranked celebs including Perrie Edwards, David Walliams, Jimmy Carr, Ann Widdecombe, and James Argent into auditioning for a fake third movie. As you do.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat 2 is officially upon us and, while fans are already itching for more, YouTube stars Josh Pieters and Archie Manners almost made it a reality with a star-studded cast.

From Britain’s Got Talent judge David absolutely smashing it, and Little Mix star Perrie making an unexpected foray into acting, to politician Ann struggling to get the Zoom call started, it’s definitely something to behold.

Josh and Archie did everything including getting in touch with the stars’ agents, writing an actual script for the movie, and taking each celeb through a bizarre read-through.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk, they explained what went down behind the scenes.

Whose audition was the best (and worst)?

David Walliams
David Walliams would have been given the part (Picture: YouTube/Josh Pieters & Archie Manners)

‘I think David Walliams was the best audition for us, he definitely gets the part of the ambassador,’ Josh insisted. ‘The worst auditions – that’s such a tough one, I don’t like to single out actors.’

‘I do,’ Archie interjected. ‘The guy who came to an audition topless, that’s mad. Jay Alvarrez. He wasn’t even wearing a shirt! [Have] some standards, please.’

‘I think he knew it was going to improve his chances,’ Josh reflected.

Meanwhile, Little Mix’s Perrie definitely impressed the lads, with Archie explaining: ‘We thought we’d put her in for Little Mix to see how good at acting she was.

‘She was actually very, very good, I think she’s probably a better singer, but she definitely wasn’t bad at all.’

‘She definitely gets the part of Borat’s sister in Borat 3,’ Josh declared.

How long did it take to put the video together – and write Borat 3?

Perrie Edwards
Perrie auditioned for Borat’s sister (Picture: YouTube/Josh Pieters & Archie Manners)

‘We did turn the whole thing round in a week, from idea to upload,’ Archie revealed. ‘So we haven’t had a lot of sleep.’

While they initially were concerned that they would have to write an entire script to send over to the stars, the duo discovered they could send over sides (excerpts of the script) instead, which they were able to write in an afternoon thanks to Josh’s Borat expertise.

‘We wrote tons [of sides], Josh mainly because he’s seen Borat – how many times?’ Archie asked, with Josh adding: ‘I think 10 times, and I’ve watched the second one twice.’

‘What was hilarious, is we always like to give our celebrities a chance to figure us out. And we sent them scripts that they thought were written by the legend Sacha Baron Cohen […] perhaps the actors don’t think about what they’re reading as much as they could,’ Archie added.

What didn’t viewers get to see?

Ann Widdecombe
Ann Widdecombe suffered some technical difficulties (Picture: YouTube/Josh Pieters and Archie Manners)

Josh and Archie have got high praise for the stars, revealing that they were far from Hollywood divas during the read-throughs.

‘Jimmy Carr’s conversation before and afterwards was hilarious – he’s just a very funny guy,’ Archie explained.

Josh added: ‘David Walliams was also very kind, very polite and nice and it was a sort of pinch-ourselves moment to speak to someone who’s an idol of ours on a casting.’

However, not everything ran smoothly, with Archie going on to say: ‘And Ann Widdecombe not being able to work out technology – not particularly surprising but we did have to cut that down because it took [her] quite a long time to work out how to turn a camera on on Zoom.’

How have the stars reacted?

James Argent
James Argent found the whole thing hilarious (Picture: YouTube/Josh Pieters and Archie Manners)

Ann Widdecombe told Metro.co.uk: ‘The audition was an absolute hoot, though I’m rather glad it was a prank as I think working with Borat would’ve got me into even more trouble.

‘I still have no idea what “this goat is shaved” means! At least if [Archie] and Josh are ever looking for a leading lady, they now know what I can bring to the role.’

James Argent, meanwhile, simply tweeted the lads to say: ‘Ffs,’ adding a string of cry-laughing emoji.

Who missed out on a chance to audition for Borat 3?

Robert Pattinson
Robert was too busy filming a little movie called The Batman (Picture: Getty Images)

Josh recalled: ‘We reached out to Robert Pattinson and had a few conversations with his [reps].

‘He’s currently filming The Batman so I’ll let him off, it’s quite a big movie. But next time I do hope he gets back to us.’

‘The only kind of people that turned us down were because they were too busy,’ Archie added.

Why did they make the video in the first place?

Josh Pieters and Archie Manners
The pair wrote sides for the actors to read through (Picture: YouTube/Josh Pieters & Archie Manners)

‘We wanted a combination of genuine actors, so we could essentially unveil the curtain behind celebrity, in terms of having a look at the process in which actors get parts for movies we know and love,’ Archie explained.

‘And we knew if we went for the Borat movie, we’d be able to justify it in that these celebrities are auditioning for a role in which they would be paid to be on a prank show, so they were clearly happy to prank other people, and therefore justifiably they should be happy to be pranked themselves.’

Josh added: ‘We deliberately didn’t mess around with people like David Walliams, we let him read the script […] we do have quite a bit of respect for him and he absolutely nailed the part. I don’t think he could have done it better.’

Perrie Edwards in so much pain when she dances thanks to ‘slipped disc and tear at base of back’

Perrie Edwards has revealed she is left in agony every time she dances, thanks to a slipped disc and a tear at the base of her back.

The Little Mix star, 27, recently found out about her painful injury, but it hasn’t stopped her from pulling out all the stops when it comes to her performances – no matter how uncomfortable it may be.

She was seen looking fierce in Little Mix’s new video for Sweet Melody, where the girlband – also made up of Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – are seen performing some seriously slick choreography.

And fans would have been none the wiser that Perrie was in pain when she performed the band’s new track on their talent show The Search for its first live show.

But, Perrie says that every time she dances, her back kills her. She opened up about her injury during a Twitter Q&A when a fan asked if Little Mix were ‘still recovering’ from learning the Sweet Melody choreography.

Perrie replied: ‘SERIOUSLY. I recently found out I have a slipped disc and tear in the base of my back/spine and I die every time we dance.’

Ever the professional, though, she added: ‘But it’s worth it.’

It comes as Little Mix are gearing up for the release of their new album Confetti, as well as preparing to host and perform at the MTV European Music Awards 2020.

‘Perrie is in pain with her back, but she is soldiering on,’ an insider told The Sun.

‘It is a very uncomfortable injury to have, but she’s not going to let anything put a top to Little Mix’s mesmerising performances… for now, it’s business as usual and they are all eager to do the best performances of their career.’

News of Perrie’s injury comes as fans are watching her and the rest of Little Mix host their very own BBC talent show, where they’re hoping to find the next big band to join them on the road when they head on tour.

The girls have created six bands, including a girl group, a boyband and a dance group, that are now battling it out with each other to be crowned the show’s winner.

Jade was forced to isolate during the first live show and appeared via video link, as the bands took to the stage live for the first time.

The mixed group, Jasper Blu, were the first band to be sent home, with Perrie appearing in tears as she broke the news.

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards on Confetti’s sexual lyrics: ‘We respect young fans but we’re mature women’

Little Mix released their new album Confetti on Friday (Picture: Little Mix/YouTube)

Little Mix fans are loving the racier lyrics on their new album Confetti, which was released last Friday and is pretty much littered with cheeky sexual innuendos.

Saucy tracks such as Rendezvous and Nothing But My Feelings leave little to the imagination and have been praised for taking on more of an adult tone.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk before Little Mix host the MTV EMAs tonight, singer Perrie Edwards explained how the band compromise between singing about sex and being mindful of their younger fans.

‘I think there’s a way of doing it, there’s being really cheeky and being a bit naughty but not full out saying it,’ she said.

‘It’s just getting clever with the lyrics and I think we’ve done that a lot in the past because we know we have a young fan base but we’re women.’

She went on to note that Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson are both 29 and approaching the big 3-0 so naturally want to embrace being a woman and all that comes with owning their sexuality.

‘So two of us being 30 in the group…,’ Perrie said as Leigh-Anne feigned horror at her age being revealed, saying in faux shock: ‘Thanks for telling everyone.’

Perrie Edwards says they’re ‘mature women’ who occasionally want to sing about ‘naughty’ things (Picture: @Perrieedwards/Instagram)

Perrie, 27, continued: ‘We’re mature women, we want to talk about naughty things but we like to respect our fans as well.’

Rendezvous features the Little Mix ladies spelling it out to a lover (or rather a booty call) that they’re in the mood.

They sing: ‘Time for two? I ain’t tryna fall in love with you, just tryna do a rendezvous. And you already know the time and place, come see me face to face.’

On Nothing But My Feelings, the girls explicitly lay out the terms of a one-night-stand, singing: ‘I know that we will never work out, but if you’re looking for a workout, you should come round.’

The singers are all currently smitten and in love with Leigh-Anne engaged to footballer Andre Gray, Perrie in a three-year relationship with Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jesy dating Our Girl actor Sean Sagar and Jade Thirwall romancing Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens.

Little Mix are set to host the MTV Europe Music Awards tonight at 8pm. They’ll also be performing their new single Sweet Melody.

It was previously confirmed that Jesy has pulled out of the show due to an illness

Little Mix led the red carpet arrivals at tonight’s MTV Europe Music Awards 2020 which are taking place virtually.

It’s a big night for the Holiday hitmakers who are nominated and also hosting the awards show for the first time.

However they’re missing one member as Jesy Nelson was sadly forced to pull out of the event due to an illness.

Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall looked a vision as they rocked up in stunning gowns

In just one of her outfits of the night, Perrie wore a black tuxedo on the red carpet with an open neck and blue tulle around her shoulders.

Leigh-Anne stood out in an orange minidress with puffball sleeves while Jade donned an electrifying pink tie-dye suit.

Rita Ora, who presented an award, stunned on the virtual red carpet in a yellow ruffled mini dress finished off with a black headband and tiny veil.

Sam Smith cut a casual figure as they hit the red carpet and performed Diamonds in a double denim combo with jacket and jeans.

Doja Cat kept it minimal with a sheer dress covering the rapper’s black underwear. During the show, she performed a rocky version of her number one single Say So complete with electric guitar.

In between hosting, Little Mix performed their new single Sweet Melody in matching white outfits and while they slayed the set, fans were no doubt missing Jesy.

It was announced over the weekend that Jesy would not be able to join her bandmates at the awards ceremony after falling ill.

Little Mix delighted fans as they dropped their sixth album, Confetti(Picture: BBC)

Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s mum has hit out at Columbia Records for their ‘lack of promotion’ over the band.

The four-piece – made up of Leigh-Anne, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson – delighted us all with the release of their sixth album, Confetti.

Side note: It’s filled with some absolute bangers.

However, Debbie Pinnock hit out at their US record label for how the promotion has been handled in America.

Taking to Twitter, she penned: ‘@ColumbiaRecords @LittleMix Surprised at how they are getting no promo from you as their label in USA when they are on the verge of probably their most successful era,’ she wrote alongside a string of confused emoji.

‘Be interesting to know.’

The Columbia Records Twitter account has yet to publicly reply to Debbie’s post, but fans were thrilled at the tweet.

Flooding the replies, one wrote: ‘Omggg yes Debbie go off expose them.’

‘DEBBIE IF LITTLE MIX  DO THEIR OWN LABEL PLS BE THEIR MANAGER ILY,’ another begged.

‘Tell em Debbie, we’re fed up,’ a follower commented.

A Twitter user replied: ‘THE MOST SUCCESSFUL YOUR DAMN RIGHT DEB! Hahaha xx.’

Little Mix’s Confetti album soared up the charts when it was released, and is currently in second place behind Kylie Minogue’s Disco.

The offering has raised some eyebrows over the raciest lyrics, with the Shout Out To My Ex singers belting out songs about one night stands and sex.

Speaking about the adult nature of some tracks, Perrie explained they are always mindful of their younger fans.

‘I think there’s a way of doing it, there’s being really cheeky and being a bit naughty but not full out saying it,’ she told Metro.co.uk.

‘It’s just getting clever with the lyrics and I think we’ve done that a lot in the past because we know we have a young fan base but we’re women.’

‘So two of us being 30 in the group…,’ she continued, ‘we’re mature women, we want to talk about naughty things but we like to respect our fans as well.’

Well, we love all the tracks.

Perrie Edwards revealed she would ‘definitely’ say yes if boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain proposed.

The Little Mix singer and Liverpool footballer, 27, have been dating for four years, and celebrated their anniversary earlier this month.

Lifting the lid on their relationship during an appearance on the Capital Breakfast Show with Roman Kemp, she was questioned on whether there were wedding bells in the air.

Sonny Jay asked: ‘If he did pop the question, is it a silly question to ask, would you say yes?’

To which the 27-year-old replied: ‘I have to think about it I think… No, obviously!

‘Me and Leigh-Anne [Pinnock] were just chatting and Andre [Gray] wanted to wait for their anniversary.

‘I was like, aww your four-year, I just had my four-year anniversary and I got a Dairy Milk bar of chocolate!

‘But do you know what, I appreciate him, we don’t want to rush into it. But it would be a definitely yes from me, I reckon!’

The England ace previously hinted that he had a ‘plan’ to get down on one knee…

Someone get us an invite to that wedding ASAP.

Perrie and Alex started dating at the end of 2016, and have been inseparable ever since – blessing us all with loved-up snaps across social media.

The Shout Out To My Ex also recalled the sweet moment her beau stayed by her side during rehearsals as she was struggling with her anxiety – and nailed one of their dance routines.

Well, we’ve all seen those TikToks…

When Leigh-Anne explained that she could ‘never’ get Andre up dancing, her bandmate insisted that the England ace is ‘the complete opposite’.

‘He loves it! He absolutely loves it,’ she continued. ‘I remember he came to our rehearsals once, it was a time when I was really bad with my anxiety and bless him, he kept coming to work with me

‘He came to our rehearsals and everyone was like “Alex!”

‘I was in a daze, feeling all over the place, I couldn’t get the moves and he was like, “Babe look it’s 1,2,3, whip and 1.”

‘Honestly he’s so sick and a really good dancer and all, he’s so sick.’

Total couple goals.

Little Mix powerhouse Perrie Edwards has lived out our worst nightmare by accidentally sending X-rated messages to the very last person on earth who should ever read them – her ex-boyfriend’s dad.

The 27-year-old is currently dating footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and was famously engaged to One Direction star Zayn Malik until their split in 2015.

While the Break up Song hitmaker didn’t divulge which of her exes had to have a word with their dad over the cheeky mishap, she did spill some of the deets on The Jonathan Ross Show as she was joined by band members Jade Thilrwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock while Jesy Nelson takes an ‘extended break’ from the band.

During the episode, which airs Saturday night on ITV, Perrie told Wossy: ‘'[I sent some to] my ex-boyfriend’s dad … by accident. It was the most mortifying moment of my entire life.

‘I sent a selfie of my face and loads of messages. I can’t even say [what the messages said]. Like really naughty ones. Like really, really naughty messages…

‘His mam messaged the next day to say, “the iCloud is still connected”. It was the most mortifying thing ever, but kind of funny.’

The ladies were joined by Joe Wicks on Jonathan’s socially distanced stage, who recalled proposing to his now-wife Rosie during a private dinner in the Maldives, just when you thought he couldn’t get any dreamier.

Getting impatient her Liverpool FC ace hasn’t popped the question yet, she teased: ‘I hope he’s watching this and heard Joe’s incredible story. Four years we’ve been together!’

Perrie, Jade, and Leigh-Anne perform their latest single Sweet Melodies as a three-piece as promo for their latest album Confetti shows no signs of slowing down despite Jesy taking time out from Little Mix until further notice.

Nearing the 10-year anniversary of their X Factor win, Perrie admitted they didn’t expect fame to be so tough.

‘I don’t think we expected it to be this hard,’ she said. ‘When you’re young and you think of being a popstar, you think, “Oh I want everyone to love me and ask for my autograph…” then you get thrown into it and you’re like, “Holy s*** balls it’s a lot”.

‘We don’t rest, we don’t sleep. But we love success so we’re willing to work for it and it’s been an amazing 10 years!’

Little Mix fans have been left devastated after Jesy Nelson announced she was quitting the group.

The 29-year-old shared a heartfelt statement on Monday, explaining that she was leaving the band – also made up of Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – after nine years, to focus on herself.

In the message, she explained that being part of Little Mix has ‘really token a toll on my mental health’ recently.

Following the news, fans rushed to applaud her decision to put herself first – while also voicing their upset at her departure.

‘Jesy Nelson choosing her health, wellbeing and sanity over being in the band is admirable but incredibly sad,’ one tweeted.

‘I hope she takes all the time she needs to heal and figure out her next move. She is remarkable.’

Rylan Clark-Neal said: ‘Gutting about Jesy, but good for her for looking after herself. Just remember, that “gag” or “p**s take” you type into your phone on social media about someone can really damage.

‘By all means have an opinion of someone but don’t be a prick. Can really hurt someone.’

‘I’m actually going to cry Jesy is leaving Little Mix I hope she’s okay & takes care of herself,’ another agreed.

‘Thank you Jesy for those amazing nine years together,’ a follower said.

‘You will always be part of Little Mix in our heart #littlemix #jesynelson.’

‘Jesy is a star and I hope she continues to thrive whatever she decides to do next,’ a fan commented.

‘We all know being in the group has had an effect on her mental health so you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.’

A Twitter user penned: ‘In all seriousness, few popstars have experienced the pressure and scrutiny Jesy has.

‘Hopefully she’s free to be happier going forward. And what a 9 years.’

As YouTuber James Charles simply added: ‘NOO WHAT.’

Little Mix were formed on X Factor nine years ago, with Jesy, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade initially auditioning for the competition as solo artists.

They were put together by the judges and eventually won the competition, becoming the first group to do so.

Since then, they have blessed us all with six albums and soared to the top of the charts, dropping bops including Shout Out To My Ex, Touch, Hair and Confetti.

Jesy previously stated that she was taking extended time off from the group for ‘private medical reasons’.

In a lengthy statement on her Instagram page shared today, the Confetti singer said she would not be returning.

‘To all my Mixers, The past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life,’ she began.

‘We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold out shows at the 02. Making friends and fans all over the world I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

‘You hove always been there to support and encourage me and I will never ever forget it.’

‘The truth is recently being in the band has really token a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard,’ she continued.

‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking core of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.

‘So after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I’m announcing I’m leaving Little Mix.

‘I need to spend some time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy. I’m ready to embark on a new chapter in my life – I’m not sure what its going to look like right now, but I hope you’ll still be there to support me.

‘I want to say thank you to everyone involved in our journey. All the hard work and dedication that went into making us a success.’

‘To every single fan who came to see us in concert, who listened to our songs and sung their hearts out, sent me messages and supported me along the way I want you to know I love you all so much and I could never have done this without you and I appreciate it endlessly,’ Jesy added.

‘Most of all I want to say thank you to Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most amazing memories i’ll never forget.

‘I hope that you’ll continue to fulfil all of your dreams and keep on making music that people love. Love Jesy x.’

Jesy’s announcement was supported by her bandmates on Twitter, who issued their own statement.

‘After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix,’ they tweeted. ‘This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.

‘We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being.

‘We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.

‘We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans. We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us.

‘We’re looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour. Love always, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne xxx.’

Jesy Nelson at the 25th National Television Awards
It’s gutting to think that the multi-talented, captivating and frankly hilarious 29-year-old is bowing out of the line-up for good (Credits: David Fisher/REX)

There’s no two ways about it: for millions of adoring Little Mix fans, Jesy Nelson’s departure yesterday was really, really sad.

The best pop groups are the ones that seem like a fun gang you want to be part of – and when someone leaves, it’s like losing one of your own mates.

That’s absolutely the case here, after Jesy announced that ‘[Being] in the band has really taken a toll’ and she was leaving to prioritise her own mental health and wellbeing.

It’s gutting to think that the multi-talented, captivating and frankly hilarious 29-year-old is bowing out of the line-up for good. But in being upfront with the reason for her exit, and in having the undisputed love and support of her now ex-colleagues, the NTA-winning queen has proven once again why she, and Little Mix as a whole, are such incredible role models.

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that in addition to bashing out world-class hits, the ladies have always been articulate and forward-thinking on all sorts of important issues – from LGBTQ+ rights and racism to friendship and body image.

Now, as she goes public with what must have been a very tough decision, Jesy is being wonderfully open on the subject of her own mental health – and not for the first time.

Announcing her permanent departure after a six-week ‘extended break’, she echoed what she revealed in her acclaimed 2019 documentary Odd One Out as she said: ‘I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.’

She added: ‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.’

In their own post, in which they reaffirmed their love for Jesy and vowed to continue as a trio, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards acknowledged that this will ‘be really upsetting’ for their supporters – and as someone who’s been a Mixer since they first sang for Tulisa and Jessie J at Judges’ Houses, I can confirm that they’re right.

But as popstar-leaves-successful-group incidents go, this feels different. It’s not like when, say, Zayn left One Direction, Geri quit the Spice Girls or Camila walked out of Fifth Harmony.

That’s because this time, it feels honest. Heartfelt. No drama, no mystery, no lies, no damage control, no whiffs of behind-the-scenes in-fighting… Just someone doing what’s right for the good of their own mentality.

To be honest, I think it’s inspirational. And I hope Jesy knows how much good she’s doing in speaking so candidly.

Loads of us – myself included – are guilty of drilling it into ourselves that we’re not doing life right unless we’re on the verge of burnout, or worse.

Even when we’re hanging by a thread, we tell ourselves we’re still not successful enough, or in control enough, or doing enough to impress other people.

And hey, oftentimes we’re happy to take the rough with the smooth because the highs make the lows worthwhile, or because – when it comes to careers in particular – we’re doing what we’re ultimately passionate about.

But sometimes it’s unhealthy. Sometimes we keep ourselves in situations (personal or professional) that aren’t good for us, because we’re scared of what we’ll do or who we’ll disappoint if we take ourselves out of them.

Jesy’s announcement is a reminder that it doesn’t have to be that way. That it’s OK to step back, take a deep breath and think, ‘hang on – I need to put myself first now’.

Of course, not everyone has the privilege of being able to just quit a job that’s making them unhappy. But whatever the individual circumstances, Jesy is showing her fans that there’s no shame or, God forbid, ‘failure’ in taking your own mental health seriously; or re-evaluating your goals and priorities and taking decisive action if your current set-up is doing you more harm than good.

All things considered, it’s just the latest example of Romford’s joint-greatest-ever citizen (I’m the other one, FYI) continuing to help normalise discussion around mental health.

She doesn’t need to give us any more information if she doesn’t want to, and she certainly didn’t owe us any explanations or juicy details while she was out of action over the last few weeks. But in speaking now, she’s doing the world of good – and building on the vital work she did with Odd One Out.

If you need any evidence, just look at the vast majority of fan comments on Twitter and Instagram, wishing her nothing but long-term fulfilment and happiness. That Little Mix’s youngest followers are so empathetic and understanding is a credit to Little Mix themselves, and the way they’ve always led by example when it comes to kindness, friendship and solidarity.

So yes, it’s sad to see Jesy go, and it’s natural for those of us who’ve adored the group from the word ‘Rhythmix’ to feel a bit downhearted about it.

But after a few weeks of worry, it’s a massive relief to know that she is taking a big step forward for the good of her own health. And whatever she decides to do next, whether it’s in the public eye or not, she’ll have the full support of the entire fanbase – from the wide-eyed tweens to us thirtysomething gays (hiya!).

As for Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie? They’ve more than proven since Jesy went on hiatus that they can work as a trio – just look at that performance of Sweet Melody on The Jonathan Ross Show (complete with paddlingpoolography) if you’re in any doubt.

And if you don’t believe them when they say they’re ‘fully supportive’ and ‘love [Jesy] very much’, you haven’t been paying attention.

It is a sad moment to be a Little Mix stan, there’s no doubt about that. But at the same time, I’ve also rarely been prouder of them.

Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has announced she’s quitting the girl group after nine years to focus on her mental health.

The 29-year-old, who rose to fame with her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, explained in a statement that she’s been under ‘constant pressure’ which has taken its toll.

Fans and friends have been quick to send supportive messages, and some are wondering what the future of the band will look like.

Is Little Mix breaking up?

The trio issued their own statement, sending their love to Jesy and confirming that Little Mix is ‘not over’.

They said: ‘After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.

‘We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.

‘We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans. We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us.

‘We’re looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour.’

Why did Jesy leave Little Mix?

Following a break from the band, Jesy announced she would be permanently leaving with a statement on Instagram.

She said: ‘To all my Mixers, The past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life.

‘We have achieved things I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold out shows at the 02. Making friends and fans all over the world, I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

‘You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never ever forget it.’

‘The truth is recently being in the band has really token a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard,’ she continued.

‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.

All the hard work and dedication that went into making us a success.

‘To every single fan who came to see us in concert, who listened to our songs and sung their hearts out, sent me messages and supported me along the way I want you to know I love you all so much and I could never have done this without you and I appreciate it endlessly.

‘Most of all I want to say thank you to Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most amazing memories I’ll never forget. I hope that you’ll continue to fulfil all of your dreams and keep on making music that people love. Love Jesy x’.

When did Little Mix form?

Little Mix formed in 2011 on The X Factor.

Jesy, Leigh-Anne, Jade and Perrie all auditioned as soloists, but were placed together in a group and the rest is history.

Their debut album, DNA, was released in 2012, while their final album as a four-piece, Confetti, was released in November this year.

Jesy Nelson has jumped back on social media to thank her fans for their support, after she announced she was leaving Little Mix to focus on her mental health.

The 29-year-old – who has been applauded in her decision to put herself first – shared a lengthy statement earlier this week in which she confirmed that she has quit the band after nine years, citing the toll being part of a girl band has had on her.

Now the star, who took an extended break from the band last month, has returned to her Instagram to share another message.

Sharing a statement to her Stories on Thursday, the singer said the influx of love from her followers made her feel quite emotional.

She wrote: ‘I just want to say thank you so much to everyone of you that has shown me so much love and support over the past few days some of your messages have made me feel so emotional and I appreciate it so much.

‘Love you all. (sic)’

Breaking the news she was leaving the band on Monday evening, Jesy said in a statement: ‘The truth is recently being in the band has really token a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.

‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.

Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall are set to continue as a trio, but it was previously reported that they had planned to pursue solo projects outside of the band.

Her decision was supported by her bandmates, who said in their own statement: ‘After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix.
